Indigo and Lightning review by phil (0.00 Stars)

Comparative Data: No randomized trials directly compare Indigo/Lightning to other thrombectomy devices (e.g., FlowTriever) or manual aspiration, limiting claims of superiority. EXTRACT-PE and STRIKE-PE lack control arms.
Sample Size and Scope: Studies like EXTRACT-PE (119 patients) and ALI series (18 patients) are modest, and Lightning-specific trials (e.g., Flash) are nascent or unpublished in full.
Outcome Metrics: Efficacy often focuses on technical success (flow restoration) and surrogate markers (RV/LV ratio), with less data on long-term patient outcomes like survival or quality of life.

Useful tool to have in the absence of a full fat CT scanner, with the added benefit of direct fluoroscopic guidance. Struggles in larger patients, or with mobile structures.

Boston Scientific Trilogy lithotripsy review by phil (0.00 Stars)

Excellent stone clearance, Would be made better if they reinforced the suction tube where it joins thedevice as it always kinks stopping the suction and causing blockages. This can be remedied by attaching it to the power tubing with sterile dressing or steristrips as show here.

Ruby Coil Embolization System review by Mike_BM (0.00 Stars)

Excellent platform with large portfolio of coils. The packing coils in particular are great for tight vessel packing.
Penumbra will suggest use through their own proprietary Lantern microcatheter, however can be used through Progreat. For coils longer than 30cm, continuous pressurised hepsal flush will prevent blockages. For shorter coils, regular manual microcatheter flushing will suffice.

TEMNO ELITE BIOPSY SYSTEM review by hulaasch (0.00 Stars)

These are superb needles.
They cut well, yielding a slightly larger ovoid core than the classical D-shaped core of a traditional side-cutter.
The coaxial needle has a valve, avoiding air being sucked in during lung biopsy.
But the best innovation is the plunger displacing the tissue core from the needle into the pot.
No more scraping it off with a needle, scalpel or plastic tube while having the nose in the formalin.

Direxion review by Mike_BM (0.00 Stars)

Excellent range of micro catheters which come in a variety of shapes (Straight, Bern and Swan-shaped). Very handy for difficult embolisation with challenging anatomy.
If I were to be hypercritical- I find the Bern shape straightens out a bit too easily when loaded with a wire but this is only a minor niggle. It would also be good if all catheters came preloaded with an 0.014" Fathom wire.

Great catheters. Good combination of being torquable as well as good tracking ability. These were off the market for a few years and were missed.
The 3 and 4 catheters are very useful in mesenteric and Fevar work

Rotarex System review by SNandhra (0.00 Stars)

Venous in stent application - worked well to clear a few week old thrombus from within a venous stented Iliac. Good clearance. Need to ensure the appropriate sheath can 'follow' to allow infusate - or will over heat/stick/resist. Permitted good clearance. Techniques to avoid just the creation of a channel worked well.

Inari ClotTriever review by SNandhra (0.00 Stars)

The INARI ClotTriever is designed for a one-stop acute ilio-femoral or IVC DVT management. The device is very easy to use, requires no lysis or driver/machine outlay and can be performed in some cases as a day-case. The device works simply to core out and capture DVT over a minimum of 4 passes, treat clot of mixed duration, from days to weeks. I have used on acute clot successfully with good clearance and post-procedural IVUS/Venographic appearance. Ihave also treated much older mixed acute on chronic type clot. There are other products that can support such as the Flow Treiver Discs if treating large volume IVC DVT, these act as temporary filters. The device requires the manufacturers sheath, from the Popliteal vein, 13Ch is the smallest but has a reverse basket filter to collect the device in and bring out the DVT through. The large bore side arm allows aspiration of any clot within the sheath. It is my preferred DVT intervention device and many of my colleagues share this view. Very happy to discuss if there are any questions.

Sinus Repo Visual 6f review by rajbhat84 (0.00 Stars)

The 14mm diameter stent has been very useful in relining kinked EVAR limbs in our practice. As this large stent goes through a 6F sheath, it makes it particularly useful.#
Example case below:
A 60year old male patient with a 7 cm juxta renal AAA and left Iliac occlusion had a AUI FEVAR, Right Iliac branch device and right to left surgical cross over graft. The Right EIA was very tortuous and caused a kink and a duplex/CT detected stenosis in the relatively stiff IBD external iliac limb, putting the circulation of both legs under threat. Recent cross over operation in the right groin meant access there was difficult.
We used percutenous access into the mid SFA with a 6F sheath that successfully closed with an angioseal and used a 14mmx80mm Optimed Sinus Repo stent across the stenosis with post dilatation with a 9 mm ballloon withy good results. Stenosis resolved on post procedure duplex.

MVP microvascular plug system review by MichaelBurns (0.00 Stars)

Mixed results - the smaller devices (MVP 3Q and 5Q) have worked well for me. I had the largest size (9Q) migrate from the proximal to mid splenic artery.
Also be wary of oversizing - I slightly oversized in another splenic artery and there was no occlusion, had to back up with coils. Explanation from company rep was the plug could not expand fully so likely had a corrugated outer contour allowing flow past.

PH Papyrus review by rajbhat84 (0.00 Stars)

This is designed for use in the Coronary system, delivered on an 0.014 wire with a monorail system.
Its highly trackable and works well in tortuous anatomy in the GI vasculature when you don't want to sacrifice a high vessel with embolisation and comes in smaller sizes of 3 and 4 mm. Lengths are relatively short at 2 cm maximum, so this will work well for peudoaneurysms arising of the SMA, splenic artery and hepatic artery when standard IR stents are either too big or nor easily trackable.
The example provided is treatment of a splenic artery pseudoaneurysm causing bleeding into the pancreatic duct and malaena. The splenic artery was tortuous but maximum diameter of 3.5-4 mm, a 2 overlapping Papyrus stents were used, dilated to 15 atmospheres, which increased the diameter to 4.2 mm and got a good seal.

REBOA review by GeorgiaPriona (0.00 Stars)

Great use of device really easy kit to use.
15-30 balloon goes via 6 fr sheath. No need for large vessel closure. Kit has everything you need.
Used for emergency invasive placenta case with bleeding Intermittent inflation 10 min up /1 down . Wire screened to confirm position. First inflation screened with Fluoro, rest using physiological response ( rise in BP)
Effective occlusion with relatively low volume blood loss for a very difficult and high risk invasive placenta case.
Simplicity and good quality kit made case easier.

Siemens Artis Pheno review by robinwilliams (0.00 Stars)

a curate's egg of a machine
good features:
-fluoroscopy quality and field of view are very good
-cone beam CT quality and field of view
-range of table and C-arm movements both vertically and horizontally
-no ceiling rails directly over table may be beneficial for some open surgery, however the monitors are mounted on rails, as are operating lights and radiation protection screens etc
-patient weight limit for table is high
bad features:
-motorised table movements are sluggish and poor compared to the magnetically locked, floating table of previous generation
-C-arm movements are laggy and unresponsive. Robot movements are broken into individual steps and it can be difficult to identify when the end point is reached.
-It is a difficult and intimidating machine to drive. Radiographer training is much more important than ceiling mounted machines.
-In the parked position the robot arm is large, in the working position it is huge and dominates the room; unlike a ceiling mounted machine where room space is freed when in use
-the accompanying wireless freestyle US has poor image quality and dreadful ergonomics (avoid it)
Overall - the robot feels like a working prototype rather than a finished machine and I much prefer the ceiling mounted systems

SeQure reflux control microcatheter review by GeorgiaPriona (0.00 Stars)

Good microcatheter with good trackability very similar to standard Progreat we normally use for Liver TACE. Used with LUMI TACE no reflux or non target embolisation observed. At the time you could just about see a cloud of contrast at the tip of microcatheter which is apparently just contrast not Embolic. Difficult to see but with magnification was more obvious. I felt you needed to flash more regularly to avoid blockage( for LUMI used contrast) .
It is more expensive than standard microcatheters.

MYNXGRIP Vascular Closure Device review by mccaslin (0.00 Stars)

Useful device, particularly in antegrade CFA access and scarred groins. I like the fact that no foot plate is left inside the vessel (unlike Angioseal). A slight learning curve when deploying (like all devices) - ensure patient remains flat for an hour or two to prevent dislodging the plug.
